Will not ratchet without a lot of force. These are easy to repair, just need a compatible 1/2" drive repair kit. Broke this during an emergency track repair. Unfortunately I had this in my truck. Definitely not meant for that application. Not sure which repair kits are compatible. Will take any reasonable offer.
